This panel will feature presentations by four alumni of UCLA's information studies program. Michael Lauruhn, Andrea Leigh, and Angela Riggio, and Caroline R. Miller.
Mr. Lauruhn currently works as a developer of categorization and metadata tools. His resume is available here.
Andrea Leigh is the metadata librarian at the UCLA Film and Television Archive and Chair of the Moving Image Collections' Education and Outreach Committee.
Angela Riggio is Head of the E-resources Cataloging and Metadata Section at UCLA.
Caroline R. Miller is Head of the Monographic Cataloging and Authority/Database Maintenance Sections at UCLA.

Cross-Training for Librarians and Archivists: SLA Archives Project

The SLA SCC archive has been managed in recent years, but could use some weeding, some preservation, and some TLC. Neal Axton and the SLA SCC archivist Joyce Hardy are working together to develop a proposal for the collection to present to the SLA SCC board.
Part of the archive has already been digitized and you can view it here.
You can read the SLA Practices for Chapter Archives if you are interested in learning more. The Aerospace Corporation is an interesting venue and is a rich source of members of SLA SCC.
