Fall 2008 meetings

Officer meeting: September 30, 2008, 5-6PM in MIT Lab.

First General meeting: Tues. October 7, from 12:15-1:15PM in the Second Floor Salon in the GSE&IS Building
Our group will be discussing our plans for this year, including the coordination of student involvement in our Bruin Archives Project (BAP). Monique Sugimoto of the University Archives will also join us. We also will introduce our potential tour sites and the current officers. If you would like to join us, we will inform candidates of openings within SAA and BAP.
Pizza and refreshments will be served!

Student involvement in IS Department 50th Anniversary
Meeting held November 24, 2008, 10:30AM in GSE&IS 228
Professor Anne Gilliland and Megan Linford discussed student group involvement in the anniversary kick-off event on January 31, 2009. Group leaders and alumni may prepare posters, activities at computer terminals, and a quiz night. Panel topics/speakers are being determined, and location may include Powell Library. SAA@UCLA will demonstrate the Bruin Archives Project (BAP). Andrew Magpantay discussed campus publicity options regarding www.dec19th.com, date in 1958 of the UC Regents' approval of establishing the School of Library Service at UCLA.
