WINTER 2006:

12:30 PM -- Meeting begins.

1. Career fair planning:

1. Fair should be held during the first or second week of June.
2. Funding restrictions: Group or department has to cover parking, food and refreshments, postage, and catering.
3. Liz will meet with events manager to get cost and possible waiver.
4. How do we find and invite participants? Keri Botello’s database; post a message to SAA listserv; and announce to ALA, SLA, and other organizations.

2. SAA Annual Meeting (July 30-Aug. 6, 2006):

1. Send call for papers.
2. Inform students about Pinkett and Mink scholarships.

3. Upcoming speakers: Richard Pearce-Moses, Bill Landis, and others:

1. SAA President speaking March 8.
2. Advertise speakers in Daily Bruin, SAA website, and relevant listservs.

4. Archivist bumper stickers

1. Liz: Go for a more formal message and design.
2. Nina will research trademark issues.
3. Need to find suppliers.

Oct. 16, 2006: The UCLA student chapter of SAA (Society of American Archivists) is pleased to welcome and congratulate our new, fellow officers for the 2006-2007 year:

Co-Webmasters: Matthew Wittmer & Kevin Carnes

Please join the UCLA Student Chapter of SAA (The Society of American Archivists) for our first meeting of the year.  We will be discussing elections, fundraisers, and upcoming events.
Immediately after, the NEW Art Related UCLA student group will have its first meeting focusing on cultural informatics, art librarianship, visual resources, and museum studies. Our official name is still in the works. Please join us and Professor Jonathan Furner for a discussion to explore ideas and present suggestions as we begin the planning stages of this exciting new group.

Where: Student Commons, GSE&IS Building
