Term paper assignment.

Write a scholarly paper of approximately 5000 words in which you analyze a document or an interrelated set of documents. Your paper should make substantial use of ideas from several of the course readings, or from books on the course reading list. Being scholarly, the paper should be well-written, and should be organized in a clear way around a linear argument and a new idea.

Your paper should be a Web page. This might involve learning how to scan in documents for use as diagrams. Turn in your paper by e-mailing Phil a URL by the end of the day on Thursday, December 15th. On Friday, Phil will prepare a single Web page that links to everyone's paper by author's name and title. This Web page will be located here:
