Description

Summary:

The Film Prep Technician is responsible for receiving, organizing, inspecting, cleaning and preparing incoming film elements for scanning. The Film Prep Technician manages incoming and outgoing production assets and assists with additional organization and archiving as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Clean and Prepare Film elements for scanning.
Organize, copy, scan logs and other production related assets
Oversee the timely completion of all day to day work
Work closely with Production Coordinators, Supervisors and Managers to understand and follow through with daily priorities
Undertake additional department duties as required


Position Requirements Education and Experience:
Prior experience and in depth knowledge of film and audio elements, film handling, rewinding, splicing and cleaning equipment.
Results oriented with strong attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and both written and verbal communication skills
Strong multi-tasker, with experience with organizing and managing multiple priorities
Strong ability to follow direction, work unsupervised, at a fast pace in a calm and collected manner
Ability to troubleshoot.

Physical Demands: Able to lift and move boxes of film, film reels and containers. Load film onto rewind bench and cleaning equipment.

Work Environment: This job operates in a clean lab environment. This role routinely uses film rewind and cleaning equipment as well as standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
