The Alexander Campbell King Law Library at the University of Georgia School of Law seeks a confident, dynamic and service-focused individual to serve as the Research Services Librarian in a fast-paced research intensive environment.

The Research Services Librarian will:

Participate in planning and teaching of first year, advanced, and/or specialized legal research courses.
Provide additional legal research instruction such as class presentations, targeted instructional programs, library tours or continuing legal education seminars.
In coordination with the Faculty Services Librarian:
Regularly promote library faculty services using a variety of communication tools (newsletter, blog, email, embedding, meetings, etc.)
Accurately and promptly answer faculty requests for research and reference assistance.
Provide training to faculty members on research and teaching resources.
Maintain regular contact with Law School faculty.
Hold outreach programs with faculty members.
Supervise and train students in the Law Library Research Assistant program.
Promote research resources through creation of online library research guides, video tutorials, newsletter articles, featured acquisitions lists or blog entries.
Schedule reference desk activities.
Provide training for research assistants hired by individual faculty members.
Participate in management of the Law Library by actively contributing to planning and evaluating and implementing best practices for library services, resources and technologies.
Serve on the Collection Development Team; identify materials for inclusion, cancellation and withdrawal from the Law Library collection.
Participate in professional, scholarly and service activities.

Required: A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and an M.L.S. or equivalent degree from an ALA-accredited institution. Degrees must be completed prior to candidate’s starting date of employment.

Desired: Demonstrated ability to provide legal research services to students, law faculty or attorneys.
