Medical Librarian Rose International - Anaheim, CA Duties:Provides accurate and prompt reference service through both manual and on-line services. Provides literature not available in the library through a nation-wide system of inter-library borrowing. Maintains accurate cataloging.Provides instruction and orientation to all new physicians and staff on the use of the library, including the use of periodical indexes,on-line data bases and reference tools.Trains/orients, schedules, assigns, guides and develops staff/team members. Mediates interpersonal disputes.Develops and provides various outreach practices for library users and new hires.Assists in formulating policies and procedures for the operation and maintenance of the library.Helps to plans, analyze and evaluate library services on anon-going basis to ensure that medical personnel's information needs are being met and improves existing services or implements new services.Represents library in the absence of Director. Position Summary:Operates and maintains a library that provides optimum information services to professional staff and all medical center employees for patient care, work-related study and research. Education/License/Certification: Bachelors degree or five years experience in the management of medical center library is required. An additional five years of experience may be substituted for a Masters degree.Qualifications: Experience with on-line searching required (especially medical data bases including NLM or DIALOG). Preferred Qualifications:Masters degree in Library Science preferred.Certification in Medical Librarianship by the Medical Library Association preferred.
