| Public Services Officer Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library, Evansville, Indiana Salary: $55,438 to $80,386 Status:Full-time Posted:05/28/12 Deadline:08/31/12 Public Services Officer The Public Services Officer articulates the EVPL vision and assures excellence in customer service and maximum utilization of the resources, services and facilities by effectively leading the four Central Library public services departments and seven branch libraries in a manner that is consistent with the mission of the Library. The PSO is responsible for ensuring execution of the day-to-day action plans developed for effective and efficient library operations; focusing primarily on the areas of customer engagement. Responsible for customer-focused, functional management of the critical public services provided; this position requires planning, implementation and evaluation of services, processes, and facilities. Provides professional leadership and guidance for 4 department and 4 branch managers, individually and as a group and encourage innovation and creative problem solving, professional development and a collaborative team spirit among managers and staff. The Public Services Officer reports to the Chief Officer of Planning and Operations and is a member of the administrative leadership team. Ideal Candidate: Outstanding, proven, leadership and management skills; communicates openly, clearly, logically, and concisely; and, is an advocate and relationship builder. The ideal candidate must be an effective and visible library advocate in the community and active in both professional and civic organizations. Compensation and Benefits: EVPL provides a competitive salary based on qualifications and experience. The salary range is $55,438 - $80,386.
