Perform as systems administrator for integrated library system. This software integrates cataloging,classification,circulation,acquisition, serial control,authority control & end-user (public) access into the electronic catalog allowing access through wide area network and dial-in for simultaneous users. Analyze library procedures; recommend & promote automated library-specific applications. Implement computer and online library applications. Maintain documentation for all in-house systems. Coordinate automated library systems operation & maintenance with vendor and maintenance representatives. Catalog and classify a wide variety of new library materials. Perform original cataloging of difficult material. Catalog items that require special subject matter expertise. Edit classification, descriptive cataloging & medical subject headings to conform to local requirements. Demonstrate & instruct in the use of automated bibliographic & reference services and associated software & hardware.

# General Schedule Basic Requirement: A.Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate study in library science in an accredited college or university, in addition to completion of all work required for a bachelor's degree; OR

B. A total of at least 5 years of a combination of college-level education, training, and experience. To qualify on this basis, the applicant must establish conclusively that the education, training, and experience provided a knowledge and understanding of the theories, principles, and techniques of professional librarianship; a knowledge of literature resources; and the knowledge and abilities essential for providing effective library and information services.

Specialized Experience: Applicants must show in their resume that they possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Specialized experience is experience in library principles, concepts, methodology, operations, and management to direct assigned library functions.
# One year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade or level requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled.
# Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience.
