Responsibilities The Preservation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and undertaking activities associated with NBCUniversal’s preservation program as well as the creation, maintenance, and governance of its preservation assets. This is a full-time position that reports directly to the Manager of Content Governance & Preservation and is part of the Film Inspection and Preservation team. The job is located in Universal City, CA.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Monitoring preservation programs
Tracking and reporting on preservation program metrics such as: weekly updates, work completed to-date, work remaining, etc.
Making recommendations for streamlining existing preservation processes, workflows and preservation specifications
Working with Archive Operations and external facilities to ensure preservation assets are maintained according to preservation standards and receive proper care and handling
Working directly with internal and external post facilities and laboratories on bids, delivery status, QC’ing photochemical and digital preservation work, tracking orders, and return of source elements
Developing relationships with US and International Archives (including University and Government) and collectors to help advance special preservation and restoration projects.
Coordinating with management team to ensure preservation work done by internal and external facilities is done on time, to spec, and on budget
Undertaking systematic documentation of preservation activities
Verifying receipt of deliverables
Qualifications/Requirements Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience in motion picture or television post production and/or preservation
A minimum of three years of experience working in post-production or preservation
Familiarity with archival concepts
Solid understanding of physical and file-based production workflows
Computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, typing)
Driver’s license with car
