Dartmouth College Library seeks an innovative, creative, and forward-thinking leader for the role of Director of Biomedical Libraries. The Director will have the opportunity to work within a vibrant community committed to innovation in medical education, public health, the biological sciences, and healthcare delivery. In this role, the Director leads the strategic planning and innovation for the Biomedical Libraries, promoting a vision for these Libraries in a rapidly evolving environment. She/he works with senior colleagues of the Geisel School of Medicine, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, Department of Biological Sciences, Dartmouth College Library and key stakeholders across Dartmouth to ensure that planning for the Biomedical Libraries resonates with institutional vision, planning and implementation. As an active advocate for the missions of the biomedical community, the Director will foster effective communication and relationships with faculty, students, and administrators in all constituent areas.


ABOUT THE BIOMEDICAL LIBRARIES and the GEISEL SCHOOL OF MEDICINE


The Biomedical Libraries consist of the Dana Biomedical Library on the Medical School's Hanover campus and the Matthews-Fuller Health Sciences Library at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Our mission is to provide health and life sciences information resources and services that advance research and scholarship, education, and patient-care activities. The Biomedical Libraries' core priorities are: Information: providing health and life sciences information that advances research and scholarship, education, and patient-care; Education: developing and implementing programs to train and educate faculty, staff, and students in the skills needed to effectively find, evaluate, and manage health and life sciences information; and Collaboration: partnering with our clients, being familiar with their needs, and providing and promoting resources and services that meet those needs.

RANK AND SALARY


The position is part of the Dartmouth College Library Classification System of Professional Ranks. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Full benefits package including 22 vacation days; comprehensive health care; retirement plans, including TIAA-CREF; and relocation assistance.


GENERAL INFORMATION


Founded in 1769 and located in scenic Hanover, New Hampshire, Dartmouth is a private, four-year, coeducational undergraduate college with graduate schools of business, engineering and medicine and 16 graduate programs in the arts and sciences.
