Degree and area of specialization:

Degree/specialization in museum studies, library and information science, art history, or related field. Graduate degree preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

3 years of post-graduate registration and collections management experience.
The candidate must demonstrate a successful work record maintaining intellectual control of permanent collections and loaned objects through administering collections databases and other forms of documentation. The candidate should also be comfortable with environmental monitoring, integrated pest management, and storage best practices. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Gallery System's EmbARK and Web Kiosk data bases and demonstrate active engagement in professional networks and organizations.

Position Summary:

The Center for Design and Material Culture promotes learning, exploration, outreach, and community engagement related to design and material culture through stewardship and administration of the Helen Louise Allen Textile Collection, the Lynn Mecklenburg Textile Gallery and the Ruth Davis Design Gallery. Reports to the Center Director and is part of a professional team that includes a Design Gallery Director, a Textile Curator, an Exhibitions Preparator, and a Communications Specialist.
