Diana L. King will join the UCLA Library as the new Film, Television and Theater Librarian in the Arts Library on September 17, 2007. Ms. King has been a librarian in the Humanities and Social Sciences Department of the University of California, Davis Library since November 2001. Her areas of responsibility have included collection development, instruction, reference and faculty outreach in Film and Media Studies, Theatre and Dance, Literatures in English, and Women & Gender Studies. Ms. King earned her MLS in 2001 and a Master's degree in English in 1998, both from UIUC. She earned a B.A. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a major in English Literature and a minor in Cinema Studies. Ms. King is active in professional associations, including the American Library Association, the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) and its Women's Studies Section, the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA), and the Theater Library Association. She has assumed leadership roles in University of California Bibliographer groups, serving as chair of both the English & American Literature Bibliographers and the U.S./British History & Women's Studies Consortia.
