    Welcoming of New Board Members

    • Instead of a group picture, new members will send a picture of themselves for Matt Wittmer (Webmaster) to incorporate into the website.  Later on, we will take a group photo.

    • Matt to add 2nd year ALA members to the website

    Reportbacks

    • Candice and Pearl will contact YALSA to allow them to use their funds as needed for purchase of books.

    • Leslie Burger will stay 1 night at the Guest House (cost ~ $250).  One topic suggested for her talk is Library Leadership.  We could do her talk and schedule a tour of the Santa Monica Public Library at the same time.
    • Susan Curzon – she will speak on campus in late January

    • Judith Krug wants to stay 2 nights (cost ~ $350)
    • Sandy Berman

    Plans:
Greg will contact Berman about her plans
We would like to offer her 2 days stay
Having her at the Social Sciences Research Library would be an opportunity for members to visit her and the library
    Funding:
We will try to get other groups to co-sponsor the event or the UCLA Library
Brenda will contact Miki Goral about the Library co-sponsoring
Will to look into Graduate Student Aid (GSA) to help fund
Pearl will attend Discretionary meeting on Monday

    Tours

    • SRLF – Still on for a tour, Will to reschedule for winter quarter

    • Santa Monica Public Library – Possible to be scheduled with Leslie Burger talk, Candice will look into the Center for Student Programming (CSP) for help funding this event

    • LAPL Lake View Terrace – Pearl looking into a possible tour
    • Powell Library - cancelled

    • Other ideas: We could cosponsor an event with Student Governing Board of a panel of UCLA academic librarians (or other librarians) in different fields talking about their experiences
