- Finances
- Balance in treasury = $184.00 (Jon will check the most current balance)
- Ideas for increasing funds:
- Book Sale
- Contact instructors for fall syllabus in order to request used books from student body
- Include other books of interest - send out request for books.
- Hold book sale on more than one day during the first week of classes.
- Other Sales
- USB Keys
- Soft drinks / snacks from Costco held in fridge
- Bake sales
- ITW - Baja Fresh (percentage of proceeds)
- Upcoming expenses:
- ALA President – travel expenses, luncheon, hotel room
- Picnic supplies (soft drinks and paper goods)
- Upcoming Events

- Potluck/Brown Bag – Student Chapter will provide paper goods/soft drinks
- Possible Locations: Sunset Canyon, Clover Park, Ocean Park (Rebecca & Chris
will check for times/reservations)
- Possible Dates: Sunday, July 24 or Sunday, July 31 (definitely before ITW)
- Calendar (Mike & Phoebe will create preliminary outline)
- Networking
- Meet with other student chapter groups to coordinate future mixers/events.
- Movie Nights – ALA will provide soft drinks/popcorn
- Social Handbooks – a "How To" for incoming students
- Monthly dinners held at alternating restaurant locations (choose consistent day in the month: i.e. second Tuesday of every month)
- Network within UCLA Library community – YRL, Arts Library, Biomed, etc.
- Fall planning
- Mentorship Match-ups - send requests for interested second-year students
- create/distribute forms to evaluate specializations
