Officer’s Meeting

• Kelly presented a printed agenda for the meeting including the following topics:
Revising Bylaws
Student Chapter of the Year Application
Elections for 2003-2004
Fundraising Ideas
Events for Spring Quarter
• Panel
• General Meeting

Other Business

Revising Bylaws:
• Officers reviewed the bylaws together
• Need to add additional officer roles currently in effect but not included in the document (Web Designer)
To Web Designer add something about working with the Publicity Officer to add publicity materials to the website
• Need to add RORA duties to VP description
• Need to add specifics about the criteria for and selection of Student Ambassador to ALA Annual Meeting
• Need to clarify the election process
Need to determine what positions will be voted on in the Spring and what the voting method shall be and what the criteria for participating in the vote is
Need to determine what positions will be voted on in the Fall and what the voting method shall be and what the criteria for participating in the vote is
• Proposed: President, Treasurer & Publicity Officer should be elected by the end of the academic year
o Discussion of Vice President to President
• Proposed: other positions to be elected by the end of the first month of the academic year
• Need to add more specific duties to the Publicity Officer
• Need verbage on what defines a member
• Officers decided to finish revising bylaws at next meeting

Panel for Spring:
• Ajit suggested a panel on minority librarians
Officers agreed
4 or 5 panelists
representing different kinds of institutions (public, academic, etc.)
representing broad diversity
off campus people preferable
• Set panel date/time for Thursday April 24, 1-3 pm, location TBD
Loren will contact Lydia for a room reservation
Ajit will contact Dr. Chu for suggested panelists

Other Spring Quarter events:
• General meeting towards the end of the quarter for ratification of Constitution and voting for new officers
Proposed bylaws will be posted on the website for review by membership before the meeting.
• Officers meeting on Wed. April 16, 12-1pm, location TBD
