ALA Student Chapter at UCLA

National Library Legislative Day:

Virtual Legislative Days
May 3 - 4, 2005

You don't have to fly to Washington to participate in National Library Legislative Day! In 2005, the ALA Student Chapter organized a "Virtual Legislative Day" on May 3rd and 4th (Tuesday and Wednesday).

We asked IS students to take a moment on Tuesday or Wednesday to call, fax, or email their members of Congress and tell them how important libraries are to them and their communities. Personal stories that illustrate how issues such as funding, privacy, copyright or technology affect our libraries have extra impact.

Please visit the National Library Legislative Day 2005 Issue Checklist to view key topics of discussion.

You don't have to wait for the next Legislative Day to take action. To send a fax or email at anytime, please use ALA's Legislative Action Center. It's fast, easy to use, and includes additional information on key issues, as well as pre-written letters you can email to your representatives.

Please also take a moment to sign the online petition for the Campaign for Reader Privacy.

Thank you for your participation!
