Carol Brey-Casiano
UCLA visit, April 18, 2005

The ALA Student Chapter was pleased to host Carol Brey-Casiano in her visit to UCLA. In the morning, our chapter Co-Presidents gave Carol a campus tour. They were then joined by other chapter officers to chat over lunch.

In the afternoon, Carol shared her thoughts with all interested students, staff and faculty in her talk entitled "Stand Up and Speak Out for Libraries." She spoke about this ALA presidential initiative, as well as grassroots advocacy for libraries, her experiences visiting libraries around the world, and how she became a library advocate.

Carol's talk was followed by a reception in the student commons.
